The Probota Monastery of Saint Nicolas' Church located in Suceava County in Romania is mentioned in documents dated as early as the year 1391. The documents in question are about an area known as Plana Siretului and it is said that the Church of Saint Nicolas that was located there was constructed of oak wood. It is said that this church is one of the oldest churches of the territory of Moldova and was established during the ruling years of Petru I Musat.
